  1. So, I apparently wrote down the wrong date! A girlfriend and I came Saturday morning at 9 to hike and no one was there!! However, we hiked anyways! It was very cool. She had been before, but it was my first time. Walking stick in hand for spider prevention, she showed me everything! I loved the “bring a book, leave a book”- very serene. We even caught a baby lizard (Henry) that hiked the whole way with us until we let him go at the end. Wish this thing let you post pics.
It was cool seeing your posters…you can tell you have put in a lot of time there. Do you know who plants all those flowers by the jungle gym???
-Anyone who can sign up for these hikes with Dr.Barnes should! I can’t wait to go back, take my dog, and try the other trials while I’m at the lake.

  2. I think these hikes are a good idea! As someone who lives close to there, I’m glad to see people going and experiencing it rather than picking to go hiking somewhere more extravagant (I’m guilty of going to Gatlinburg to go hiking); I’m really sad I’m out of town both of the dates because I’d like to see what it’s all about. It can show the people of Hernando and surrounding areas that exercising in a prettier place like nature makes it a lot more enjoyable (in my opinion). I hope this because a popular thing!

  3. Lovely idea, I am super excited that you are doing this. When you talked about plants and described your biology walks in class I felt like I missed out on field trips during A&P. I would love to participate and I live in Hernando so I will sign up!
